Pray was bought as a puppy from Joel Svensson from Sweden.
She is very friendly and social, gets along with everyone, and absolutely loooves children! She is a very strong and masculine bitch, so although she is a very social and super happy dog, she can definitely stand her ground. Otherwise, she's an easy dog to live with, but she's afraid of vacuum cleaners and other similar sounds.
She passed the Finnish sheepdog working test (SPKY) in 2010 with great points.
She goes crazy when she sees someone doing agility, but on the course she concentrates 100%.
To everyone's surprise the two-year old Pray made it to the team with Anja to represent Finland at 2010 FCI Agility World Championships, and even came second on the Individual Jump course. She was beaten only by the World Champion Lisa Frick with Hoss. ;-) An incredible achievement from a dog that's been working sheep all year and trained agility only a few times before the tryouts!
After the succes in the Finnish tryouts and the AWC Pray flew to Spain with Anja to model for the new Hurtta collection.
Pray lacks a little bit of that natural feel for animals when herding, and Anja decided it's not fair for her to be asked to do things differently and trained hard when she doesn't understand.
In 2015 she moved to Ikaalinen to the Huotari family. She lives there as a loved pet and also teaches her now family to use a sheepdog on their sheepfarm. Though she isn't the most natural sheepdog, she gets the job done without hesitating and still treats the animals well.
It was very difficult for me to let go of her, but I know she's very happy living on a farm as a pet with light sheep work. There she has company 24/7 from her new best friends, the family's young boy and Depp's and Ceri's litter sister Nekku, who will hopefully become her sidekick at sheepwork. I know she absolutely loves her new life! :-) -Jessica
